“110 years ago Eve died. She was a chess master and left her legacy for you to finish. She was buried here amongst other’s graves and corpses. You are entering her crypt and your Mission is to Escape.”
Our host was really nice and explained everything to us, she was also a big fan of escape rooms so had a great chat about past games.
Room Sep Up
The room was basic and dimly lit with a few props fitting for the ‘cemetery’ theme. The maximum size team for this room is 8, a team of this size may find the space a little snug and may struggle to take part in some of the puzzles as there wasn’t many. Anyone with restricted mobility may struggle as you need to keep going up and down stairs.
The game was a mixture of linear and non linear puzzles with an even blend of observational, logical and mathematical problems to solve. The flow of the game was a little disconnected, with lots moving back and forth throughout. The majority of the game was opened with coded padlocks, although there was a couple electronically opened latches which we experienced a little difficulty with. (The mechanism had been damaged and they were in the process of sorting this)
The host was able to monitor your progression via the CCTV which also allowed her to hear what was being said in the room. Clues were delivered via a TV screen where the host was able to personally write the messages which were delivered.
Our Overall Rating
We didn’t enjoy this game, we found we were bored upon leaving but spoke to our host who suggested to play a different room which we have reviewed ‘save Christmas’ The room has potential but a few more puzzles would make it more enjoyable.
